How It Feels To Have A Stroke

A good friend of mine recently experienced a stroke.

I found this description of the process fascinating.

Neuroanatomist Jill Bolte Taylor had an opportunity few brain scientists would wish for: One morning, she realized she was having a massive stroke. As it happened — as she felt her brain functions slip away one by one, speech, movement, understanding — she studied and remembered every moment.

This is a powerful story about how our brains define us and connect us to the world and to one another.

One of the things I do is an alignment process that balances the brain hemispheres. An alignment involves a hands on gentle touch procedure.

Most recipients of the experience notice an immediate difference
in energy level and a physical difference in their bodies. Some describe feeling stronger, more ‘level,’ or more balanced. Although for some, stress relief is immediate and profound, for others, it is a more subtle sense of energy awareness and inner peace.

I have found that most people
in our culture are left brain dominant. We are trained to be that way by the school system, so living more in our left brain tends to be the way we deal with the stresses of life. You can take a brain balance test here.

Having the ability to maintain a balanced access to both brain hemispheres is critical. You can and must develop both sides of the brain.
